BIOGRAPHY

I am a designer and maker of furniture and sculptural objects.

My passion is exploring form, colour and proportion with the aim of creating interesting, unique and beautiful pieces.  I hugely enjoy the challenge of working within the boundaries created by furniture design, with the additional requirement to function well in its intended use.

I am inspired by the artistic, architectural and engineering heritage both in Britain where I live and countries I visit.  Engineering solutions throughout the ages, from medieval timber framed buildings to the technical beauty of aviation are a constant source of ideas.  

​

My work does not leave the workshop until it is as good as I can possibly make it, both in terms of design and execution.  All pieces are designed to be capable of repair and refinishing should the need arise, with the hope that they will endure for many generations and beyond.
